On tap at Hop Stuff Taproom Ashford. Hazy amber colour lasting white head. Some sourness in the mouth. Some lemon some gooseberry and vanilla. Light if any salt. OK sour. Some yoghurt

Tasting glass @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Oragen golden, small white head. Nose is salt vomit, empty bland. Taste is lemon, lime, vomit, salt, fruit, vanilla, lactose is all lost. Not the greatest kettle sour.

Gose by Fourpure in collaboration with Devil's Peak in South Africa, flavoured with atypical Gose ingredients like gooseberry, vanilla and Citra hops. At Billie's Bierkafetaria, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Snow white, stable, thick and moussy head, hazy yellow blonde robe with ochre-ish hue. Aroma of green apples or indeed green gooseberry, sourdough, raw rhubarb, sorrel leaves, stale old urine, unripe pear, grapefruit peel somewhere (the Citra I guess), vanilla remaining very subtle - which is not a bad thing I guess, I cannot see it working in this kind of flavour environment anyway... Tart, fruity onset, gooseberry indeed, rhubarb and woodsorrel sourness, soapy-wheaty middle, medium carbonated; green gooseberry aspect lingers over a very slightly salty, refreshingly tart middle, ending dry with a light citrus peel hop note - and again the vanilla remains largely hidden. I don't think adding vanilla to a Gose is a good idea, these flavours are bound to clash, but luckily its doesn't come through. Saltiness could have been more outspoken to qualify as a Gose - again, this is not really a Gose, rather a modern sour ale of sorts.

500ml can. Pours hazy dark gold with a thin head. Aroma is salty gooseberry. Taste has salty gooseberry throughout. Sour and tart finish. Refreshing.

Good pleasant sour, with soft vanilla balance

Keg at the brewery tap. A dull golden orange coloured pour with a a fine white head. Aroma is si sweet apricot, orange, light tangy, orange rind, floral citrus note. Flavour is composed of tangy citrus, orange, apricot, mango pinch of salt. Palate is semi sweet and, higijsh carbonation. Not bad.
