Although hard to comprehend for many, this is the big brother of Hel & Verdoemenis. With loads of dark malts in both back and foreground, supported by strong but smooth bitterness from hops and roasted malts. Flavor indication: chocolate, coffee, toast

Bottle shared with bokkekm. Pours pitch black with a small bubbly light brown head. Aromas of cocoa, slight alcohol, vanilla and some coffee. Taste is very strong roast up front, dark dark bitter chocolate, licorice, lots of malty sweetness in there aswell. Vanilla and some spices. Slightly herbal. Low carb and full body.

Bottle. A- Soy sauce, oak, black licorice, whisky, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Soy sauce, oak, whisky, roasty, cocoa, bitter. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Interesting beer. When I poured it, out came huge chunks of floaties. Like big enough that one barley fit through the mouth of the bottle and made a splash everyone. I almost didn't want to drink it. It smelled like pure soy sauce and booze. The aroma was actually really pleasant and so was the taste for that matter. After a couple sips, I decided to strain out the floaties. I did and it drastically changed the flavor and aroma. The soy and booze turned into a bitter cocoa and roasty note. Almost like it was 2 different beers. Never had anything like that before.

Fles gedeeld door Roelzie. Het is een haast zwart bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een gebrande moutige geur met chocolade tonen. De smaak is chocolade, hout en gebrande mout.

This 330 ml bottle has been stashed for almost two years following our first trip to the Netherlands. I have added a couple of more De Molen brews since, time to tap into Heaven & Hell. My bottle indicates 11.9%, just saying. I’ve chosen my Cowtown snifter for this try, a heavy pour yields a jet black body but little in way of foam. A thin light brown rim around the glass. I lift for a smell, no wonder I held onto this, blackberry, tobacco, ash and red licorice. And a taste now, baking chocolate, charcoal, wheat bread, a touch of hard candy and a stern bitterness. Very mature, very straightforward. Again I like the whole package.

Thuis uit een flesje. Prachtig zwart met goed bruin schuim. Aroma chocolade. In de smaak ook, maar ook heerlijke bitterheid van geroosterde koffie. Fles vermeld 12,9%. Heerlijk.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a black color with a huge fluffy brown head that lingered forever and left very good lacing. The aroma was roasty with chocolate syrup, cocoa, anise and strong floral & piney hops. The flavor was red wine, cocoa, anise and pine. Very long finish. Incredibly thick and full.

On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized creamy beige head, chocolate, cocoa power and alcohol in the nose. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, cocoa, light coffee and noticable alcohol with rather roasty finish. Well done.
