Although hard to comprehend for many, this is the big brother of Hel & Verdoemenis. With loads of dark malts in both back and foreground, supported by strong but smooth bitterness from hops and roasted malts. Flavor indication: chocolate, coffee, toast

Tap at Fakin. Almost black body, tan head. Long, dryish aroma, malty, mostly notes of cocoa. Excellent, balance taste, cocoa, toastiness, light coffee, even slightly strangely juicy in the finish, clean and moreish. By all means a world class RIS!

Bottle. Black color with beige head. Aroma is leathery, earthy, chocolate. Taste is again leathery, earthy, caramel, rustic, some bitterness from the hops. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very good!

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm, krachtig en licht bitterzoet met iets van rook, bittere chocolade, vanille en karamel. Erg goed.

From 33cl bottle. Pours dark brown, no foam, looking very much like a coke. Aroma is deep of red fruits, cherries, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice. Body is medium-dense with tongue-tickling carbonation. Taste has some sweetness, but also a good bitterness, which dominates the former. Finish is relatively long, but could be longer for such a beer.

Tap@De Molen Takeover, Taphouse, Copenhagen (07/03/2017) - pours black with a tan head. Sweet and roasted malty aroma and taste, with prominent rich opulent chocolate, velvety mouthfeel, some additional caramel and fudge sweetness, light wooden accents, warming with a vanilla caress into the close.

Bottle, bottled 15-08-16. Aroma is intensive cognac, quite much dark chocolate. Light bitterness, light sweetness. Full body, creamy texture. Maybe not the best beer by De Molen, but still it’s great.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Pitch black, dark espresso head. Dark chocolate and molasses, hints of alcohol. Quite a bit of fresh cut pumpkin and green apples too - this makes it feel young. Tastes moderately sweet with a hefty roasty acrid bite blended into a big pungent grassy hop bitterness. Some berries here and there - blueberry or currants kind of thing - can’t help the huge bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, basically no alcohol burn. Not bad, but way over the top.
