Although hard to comprehend for many, this is the big brother of Hel & Verdoemenis. With loads of dark malts in both back and foreground, supported by strong but smooth bitterness from hops and roasted malts. Flavor indication: chocolate, coffee, toast

0.33 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja, Višnja 666 and Goran. Thanks Višnja! Dark brown, small tan head. Dry fruits, alcohol, chocolate. Sweet, dry, barrel flavor. Quite drinkable, dry finish. Good, but not that special.

Dark brown to black colored, small tan non lasting head. Aroma is strong peated and some roasted malt, some chocolate, burnt wood, leather, some alcohol. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, roasted, some dark chocolate, strong peat and burnt wood, leather, moderate roasted-burnt bitterness, dry finish and long lasting peated bitter aftertaste, phenolic notes present, alcohol noticeable. Full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Bottle. Almost black with a fine deep tan head. Very chocolatey aroma with roasted malt and the orchard in flower. Just a hint of really old stout underneath luscious fresh stout. 8+ Silky texture, low carbonation. If the aroma suggested roast in the background and too much chocolate, a sip puts those thoughts to bed. The chocolate is reeled in by coffee, spices and firm bitterness. The roast is more pointed and verges on acrid. There’s a little orange and juicy tropical touch as well. Really quite bitter at what seems to be the end, then there’s a green oakiness that creeps in. I didn’t dislike the finish but it made the beer seem less welcoming.

Bottle, 0.33l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours pitch black with medium creamy light brown head and good lacing. Aroma of heavy roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and wood. Taste starts with moderate sweet and heavy roasted malt and coffee, follows by chocolate, licorice, some sourness and earthiness, too, mouthfeel is warming with well hidden alcohol, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Heavenly good, no relation to hell noticed...

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a modest espresso-coloured head. Smells like roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, smoke. The taste follows the same notes, chock-full of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Smooth texture, full body and cherry bitter aftertaste.
