There isn't much of a story behind this beer. The beer kinda made itself. Before making it, we we're already working within the New Nordic Beer project and had already made a New Nordic Sour, so giving it that extra oomph by adding Swedish Black Currants was a given. At first it wasn't organic but when we came across organic berries, naturally we made it so.

Tasting glass @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Red candy berry, blackcurrant candy appearance, thick pink head. Nose is sour candy with yoghurt sweet, sweet blackcurrant syrup, like a sour version of a sweet fruit beer, same for the taste,… Low iron, plastic, chemical, cotton candy, yoghurt, blackcurrant syrup with sourness, artificial blackcurrant. Strange, bit of a mixed bag, thick syrupy, yoghurt body.

Keg at BrewDog Leicester. Purplish red and hazy with a pink ring of head. Light aroma of bla currant and a touch of Parma violets. Taste is surpringly sour but still allows the blackcurrant flavour to take centre stage. Wonderful sour berry in the finish and aftertaste, staying on the lips long after it's in the mouth. Heavy carbonation. It's not a complex beer but who cares? Neat little sour.

330ml bottle. Clear dark reddy purple with a thin pink head. Aroma of blackcurrants. Taste is also mostly blackcurrants, sour, quite tart, light funkiness. Light-medium body, lively carb. Nice though not liking it as much as the previous sours they've done.

Keg at BD Mighty Boost, 28/07/17. Raspberry red with a well presented crimson head. Nose is mellow funk, raspberry jam pips, balsa wood, damp hay. Taste comprises blackcurrant squash, light funk, grains, hay bale, tangy red berry fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a modest puckering bite. Nice blackcurrant profile but lacks sour edge ... comes over as more fruit beer like.

Keg at BD Sheps Bush. It pours rich purple with with a thick pink - purple head. The aroma is tart, tangy, bit acidic, blackcurrant cordial, biscuit and blackcurrant cheesecake. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, lactic, quite acidic, lemony, blackcurrant, raspberry pie, berry skin, wood, sherbet and granny smith apple with a drying finish. Light - medium body and moderate carbonation. Maybe a bit too lactic and acidic. Its pretty OK overall, but no game changer for the style.
