Ictis from the French brasserie De Sutter knows how to attract the eye by the originality of the design of its bottle. Closed with a muzzled cork stopper, it is a pale ale-style lager with a yellow and golden color topped with a white head. On the nose, it releases aromas of cereals, hops and yeast. Sparkling and oily, it has sweet and fruity flavors of citrus, cereals, hops and yeast.

Bottle. Nice ahape of the 75cl bottle. Color: Hazy golden, large white head. Aroma: Malty with hoppy backbone, yeasty, fruity notes of stone fruit and citrus, hints of bread and cereals. Moderate to ovef moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Medium body, below average carbonation. Ok but a bit too one-dimensional. No real excitement, besides of the bottle itself ;) ...

Bottle from Beerwulf. Bit creamy and honey-ish with an aroma of yeast, spicy notes, ripe fruits, pale malt, sugar, soft floral notes. Picking up some metallic accents. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and light bitter. Medium body. Strange, sugary, doesn't rock my boat.

Fles (lot nr. 402) gekocht tijdens vakantie en gedronken met Tomhendriksen. Goudgeel troebel bier met flinke stevige schuimkraag. Weinig aroma; iets moutig. Smaak is hoppig en fruitig. Nasmaak is bitter.

Gorgeous corked bottle from a random (but nice) food shop a short walk from Paris Gare du Nord. Drunk while watching the interminably tedious Paris Olympics opening ceremony. The beer is golden-amber with a white head and a pleasingly fine fizz. There's white pepper, white bread, some floral notes and the faintest hint of banana. The finish is dryish. The flavours seemed quite mild but reminded me more of a saison. Not the best beer (apart from the bottle!), but still far more enjoyable than the opening ceremony.

330ml bottle [courtesy of the TVs - thanks a lot!]. Cloudy, amber colour with average to huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Floral and minimally grassy, hoppy and minimally spicy and bready, malty aroma, yeasty fruity overtones, a touch of apricot, baked apricot. Taste is slightly spicy, minimally biscuity, pale and slightly caramel malty with some residual sweetness, floral and minimally grassy hoppy as well as slightly yeasty fruity, hints of apricot and mirabelle, a touch of petals. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Balanced, refreshing, a tad overcarbonated - very nice.
