Stout black beer at 6%, the Ténébreuse draws its aroma of coffee and its black color in the roasting of its barley. Bubbly and light on the palate, it is still a stout beer. The addition of flakes of barley and oats gives it a soft texture that goes particularly well with chocolate sweets.

Almost opaque black color, steady small creamy brown head, some lace. Light coffeish and slightly sour nose. Roasted malty, medium to full bodied brew. Late bitterness. Ok Swiss stout - nice try, but one bottle is enough of this stuff.

Bottled (thanks Bov!). Deep brown colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, some hops and malts. Also some slight yeasty and sour hints. Flavour is mildly roasted maklts along with hops, yeast and some fruits. Rather sweet, but welldone brew.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Very dark with rich creamy head. Lightly vinous nose, but then nothing. No roastines or coffee like you’d expect in a stout, nor malt flavour or bitterness. Not really bad, but very empty.

[At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] An opaque black beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is of chocolate, coffee, and roasted bread before a dry end sets in. A great flavor. The hops used in this one is Nothern Brewer.

Dark color, brownish head, creamy but not persistent. Some roasted malt aroma, pretty strong yeast, grains, hay. Dry, rather pleasant roasted malt, but too strong yeast flavor. Palate in the line with the rest.
