A fruity golden ale with flavours of tropical resinous fruits abundant in the mouth, and a sensuous citrus finish.

On gravity at the winter beer festival, the Three Tuns, Bristol 23/2/2013. Deep gold with a slight, off-white head. A touch of citrus fruit, cereal malts and dryish finish. A bit subdued, but ok.

This is a rewrite: in front of the original. Half-pint, cask in The Station Hotel, Oakengates on 15th Oct 2014. I might have been a bit harsh on my first rate and this beer is better than I intimated. Scores altered to square up a mini unjustification! Still a citrusy golden brew but it’s OK really. Yet another golden ale with a citrus, lemony characteristic from Salopian: this seems to be their ’trademark’ style. Pale gold in colour with a good white head that produced lacing in my pint sleeve glass: my local Wetherspoons staff know how to pull a pint, so it looked fine and was in good condition. The whole thing was lemony: smell, look and taste. Whatever hops are used completely dominate the brew and give the malt content no room to maneuver what so ever. If you fancy a watered down drink of ’Toilet Duck’ this is for you, otherwise leave it alone. Just to citrusy for my taste buds.

Golden yellow, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - Hoppy, grapefruit, golden malts, better aroma than taste
Taste - light hoppy grapefruit, golden malts, simple
Palate - soft carb, thin body. Finish - bitter, lingering hop, bit over lingering
