(On tap) Black with tiny tan head. Lovely aroma - molasses, raisins, red berries. Full bodied, smooth, sticky with nice fine bright carbonation. Nicely balanced taste. There’s good dark toffee/ molasses sweetness to. A lance the burnt toffee bitterness and alcohol. Very nice.

440ml can @ Pien bar, Helsinki. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Coffee, roastedness, tobacco notes and chocolate in a good balance. Hoppy, dry finish, roasty finish. Solid.

Lata 44 CL del Taxman tomada en Belmonte 30..05.. 2019. (r85 ). Fcpref 05..04..2020. lote 267 en fondo lata. Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro que desaparece al poco tiempo casi por completo. Sabores maltosos intensos tostados con toques de cafés suaves algo torrefactos. Cacao y especiados, pimienta, vainillas. Cuerpo medio a intenso con buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio y bastante sabor. Suave amargo seco al final. Densa y fina en boca, de trago corto. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda alguna.

Draft at Mikkeller, Bangkok. Black with a thick creamy tan head. Aroma of licorice, dark chocolate, overripe dark fruits, caramel and toffee. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with treacle, dark fruits, molasses, plums, licorice, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich. Can at DLD 2019.

Black beer, thick brown head. Smells of rich malt and bitter fruit with a little chocolate. Flavour follows suit, with dark chocolate and dry toasty malt, a warming booziness and it's really rich and smooth. Delicious.

Can from Malt Attacks, bue à Niamey, lundi Pâques 2019. Brune foncée, noire, col crémeux moka, le tout sur un filament huileux doré au verre. Arôme est malté, grillé et chocolaté sur fines effluves de café, retrouve de fines pointes de fruits noirs rappelant le cassis et la mûre avec une petite touche de fruits pressés laissant un rétro fin aigrelet. Palais est boozy, douceur chocolaté avec note grillée en retrait, impression de bitter dark chocolat au lait. Alcool est très au devant, un peu trop pour juste une personne sur une seule cannette. Fruité noir avec une pointe d'anisé. Le tout assez sec sur la fin avec une note d'amertume entre chocolat et houblon. Belle base, mais aurait été mieux avec 3 ou 4 % de moins.

Can from the Star and Garter, Bromley. Drank at home. Black pour with a beige head. Nose of chocolate raisin, black treacle, coffee. Flavours of sweet tobacco, dark chocolate, coffee, burnt spice, liquorice. Soothing boozy sweet finish. Very nice indeed.
