DESCRIPTION
Filungar was originally a collaboration with Vault City.
It’s an IPA fermented through with a traditional Norwegian Kviek yeast. This Voss strain ferments hot and kicks out bags of fruity orange and citrus esters.
It’s been liberally hopped with Denali, El Dorado and Citra for good measure.
Goes well with strong winds and stronger ships.
Featuring Johnny, master of mixed ferm at Vault City.

ABV: 5.5%. Murky matt medium orange yellow colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, oat, moderate to heavy hoppy, flowers, pine, citrus, orange, lemon, light yeasty (kveik yeast). Initial flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter, finish flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity hops, citrus, orange, lemon, yeast - kveik yeast, wheat - oat. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20200811]

44cl can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy, orange-juice gold, with moderate white foam, fine. Aroma is herbal and yeasty. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium-high bitter, with some initial sweetness. Final is average.

Can, Comedy Parade Albergen. Raspberry and tropical fruit in the aroma. Grassy, slightly herbal flavor with lots of fruit and a hint of lactose. Friendly fruity IPA with a soft hopbite.

Can. An orange juice colored beer with a minimal sized white head. The aroma is orange driven, both peel and fruit meat. Some pine cones and a touch of mango too. It's medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation, semi-dry, with a decent bitterness. Mostly orange in the flavor as well, with mango, pine cones and a touch of grass. Medium length finish. An easy drinkable beer, with less kveik character than hoped for. 200516

440 ml can, as Gipsy Hill Filungar Kveik IPA, from Vinmonopolet Sauda (also bought at Vinmonopolet Stadionparken, Stavanger). ABV is 5.5%. Cloudy pale yellow colour, huge white head. Aroma of kveik, citrus and pine. Flavour of pine, juniper and citrus. Medium bitter finish.

Hazy golden with off white head - Fruity citrus aroma - Malt body with a fruity citrus flavour with some nice bitterness - The citrus flavours goes into the finish that ends fruity dry - This was good
