DESCRIPTION

Filungar was originally a collaboration with Vault City.

It’s an IPA fermented through with a traditional Norwegian Kviek yeast. This Voss strain ferments hot and kicks out bags of fruity orange and citrus esters.

It’s been liberally hopped with Denali, El Dorado and Citra for good measure.

Goes well with strong winds and stronger ships.

Featuring Johnny, master of mixed ferm at Vault City.

440ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. An huge white head, some of it remaining over an unclear golden body. Spotty lacing. Inviting aromas of sappy orange, wheaty. Rounded taste profile of citrus squash backed by a moderate touch of kveik strain. Mid-dry, smooth fruit hoppy end. Fine bodied. Likable. (Tromsø 09.04.2020).

Can. Pours cloudy pale straw with stable white head. Clear aroma of citrus and yeast, with mild touches of flowers. Bitter flavour of hops and citrus, with rusty and sweetish notes of kveik and hints of malt. Bitter and citric afteraste with estery hints. Well-balanced and quite nice.

Can, 5.5%. Fruity, citric, creamy aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Very big stable white head. The flavour is citric and funky. Has a mild hop bite. Sourish, but not quite like infected. Good mouthfeel.
