Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný (unfiltered) is available regularly only at Na Parkanu in Plzen and, every October at selected pubs under the Volba Sladků brand. A limited number of kegs were exported to Sweden and Finland for special events. Though the beer is not kvasnicovy (yeast beer), as there is no wort or young yeast added, it is unfiltered.
Note that this is not the same as the more widespread tankovná (tank beer) or the unpasteurized (filtered) version, both of which are found throughout Prague and Czech Republic. all of these other versions should be reviewed under the regular Pilsner Urquell entry. Additionally, the 170 year Anniversary flip-top bottles should be reviewed under the regular Pilsner Urquell entry.
The version of the beer available in the brewery cellars should be rated in its own entry.

Draught@ Hospoda Korbel, Seinäjoki as Unfiltered Pilsner Urquell. Rated on 09.11.2012 Quite clear and pale for an unfiltered pils. Aroma has grassy hops, some butter and grainy malt. Flavour is rather grassy with hops and grainy malt. Dry finish. Feels a bit sticky. Smooth, easy to drink and lacks the lager harshness completely. Better than the filtered version (no surprises here) but somehow I expected more.

Pours clear golden with a massive smooth white head. Aroma of grassy hops, grainy malts and hints of fruits. Taste is nicely grassy and smoothly hoppy with some mild buttery and grainy malty notes. Finish is bitter and grassy with some malty notes. Nice, extremely well balanced pilsener.

(Draught at Hilpeä Hauki, production date 31.10.2012, 20121108) The beer poured golden and cloudy. Its head was medium size and white. Aroma had grass, fruitiness, grain and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, grain, fruitiness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy, fruity and bitter. A very balanced and pleasant aroma and taste. Why do they sell the filtered version at all?

Tap @ Na Parkanu, Pilsen. Pours slightly hazy golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of rich bready malt, yeasty, white bread, loads of Czech grassy and flowery hops. Flavor is rich malt, white bread, yeast, grassy flowery hops. Medium body, soft carbonation, bitter refreshing finish, super drinkability. A pure master piece of a beer, havent i been driving ill been seated the whole day quaffing this !

Hand bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2012. Cuso/Imro generously provided a hand bottle at the tasting but it tasted a bit off, so I’m going to rate based on my previous experience with the beer during my previous trip to the brewery in Pilsen. A bit hazy, golden appearance with a white head. A bit chewy, bready yeasty, lightly fruity (lemon), straw aroma. Nice, light fruity, a touch spicy, yeasty/bready, hay flavor. The highlight of my last trip to the Czech Republic and really an eye opening experience to unfiltered lagers for me.

On tap at Na Parkanu, Plzen. Hazy golden colour, big fluffy white head. Aroma is floral, lemon, soft sweet malts, inviting. Flavour is malty, soft sweet, floral, light yeasty, grainy, quite bitter grainy and malty finish. Light-bodied, soft mouthfeel. Really nice pils, although I don’t really dig the grainy bitterness. They sell plastic 1.5L bottles there now, straight from the tap.

Bottle, RBESG 2012 grand tasting. Lightly hazy golden colour. Aroma bread, hops, a small bit yeasty. Taste medium to light heavy bitter, light sweet. Dry and hoppy, bitter finish. Might have got impacted by the bottle a little. 7 4 7 3 14 = 3,5 RERATE 15.11.2012 Tap from barrel at historical Urquell’s cellar. Aroma yeasty, pils malt, very fresh. Taste was evidently yeasty, light acidic, medium hoppy bitter, light malty. Harmonic, yet the yeast gives a noticeable acidic twist. The pils essence, urquell. 7 4 8 5 17 = 4,1 Rerate 3.10.2021 Tap at U Blahovky. The original 2 ratings apply for the wood version which belonged to this entry on RB back then, if I remember correctly (filtr and nefiltr both counted as the classic PU entry and this one was for the wood one). I leave them here nevertheless and proceed to rate the current nefiltr. U Blahovky remains one of the best places to try Pilsner Urquell. Now onto the rating. Actually not much to say here. Very clean, very well made pilsner. Moderate body, med-high carbonation. Subtle bready maltiness with a touch of raw grain. Background sweetness, centered on med-high bitterness with a pleasant round edge, leading into a quite dry and moreish finish. Med-light grassy herbal hops character, subtle but nice. Light bready yeastiness to round it all up, with a touch of yeasty sourness. Really easy drinking, really tasty, liquid bread. Once again increasing points slightly 7 5 9 5 17

Tap at the Restaurant Hotel Rohac. 330ml. Drink half with some Slovakia specialities (Strapacky s kyslou kapustou). Fajnie podane na orginalnej podstawce i dobrej temp. ok. 8 stopni wg mnie. Zamawialem snut a nalano mi na spo0sob hladinka. no ale obsluga po angielsku nie za bardzo sie zna, ale jakosc po slowacku-czesku sie dogadalismy. Piwo smaczna czuc gorycz i rzeskosc, kufelek oblepia piana, zimne pivo wspaniale pasowalo do dosc goracej potrawy. Ocena 4,3 Tap from some Traditional restaurant in Stary Smokovec. (Central Restaurant Stary Smokovec) Metnawe, blyszczace zloto, ziarniste, slodowe, doraznie chmielne i konkretnie kwaskowe, piana nie za wielka ale nadal trwala. Do salatki buraczabnej pasowalo idealnie. Ocena 4,1. Usrednione na 4,2 ogolnie.
