Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný (unfiltered) is available regularly only at Na Parkanu in Plzen and, every October at selected pubs under the Volba Sladků brand. A limited number of kegs were exported to Sweden and Finland for special events. Though the beer is not kvasnicovy (yeast beer), as there is no wort or young yeast added, it is unfiltered.
Note that this is not the same as the more widespread tankovná (tank beer) or the unpasteurized (filtered) version, both of which are found throughout Prague and Czech Republic. all of these other versions should be reviewed under the regular Pilsner Urquell entry. Additionally, the 170 year Anniversary flip-top bottles should be reviewed under the regular Pilsner Urquell entry.
The version of the beer available in the brewery cellars should be rated in its own entry.

Draught from a keg from the Czech Republic. This is the only beer my wife will drink, she buys it from an importer who gets it from Plzen. After a carboy I can see why. Notes of grass, hay and grape. Big bodied for such a light seeming beer. Perfectly balanced, in the malt and hops. To quote her again. "This is the best beer in the world, why should I drink anything less." Wonderful finish. A good reason to retire to Plzen (Actually she also drinks the tinned tankovna Pilsner Urquell, but nothing else".)

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 30 Sep 2011) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of grass, hay, bready malt and hints of citrus. Malty, fresh taste with grass, bread, hay, toffee, hints of citrus and a generous grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, fairly dry. Very fresh and very tasty. Lovely pilsener.

Sample @ SBWF on September 29. Pours cloudy yellow with a rather small white head. Smell reminds me of a hefeweissen. There’s yeast, coriander and a fresh sweetness. Taste is malty with hints of butterscotch. It has a nice and balanced hoppy bitterness to it. A great lager. Pity this isn’t the Urquell that’s widely distributed. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný on 12 Dec 2013 at 22:08 - Score: 9

On tap at SBWF. What an pleasure to drink this beer. Hazy brownish with a large white head. Clean and fresh, and incredibly refreshing. Grass, fruit, malt, citrus, yeast and some bread. I wonder if I ever want to drink the ordinary P U again?

Rating # 3700. Had this several times at both U Rudolfina, Na Spilze, U Parlamentj, Na Parkanu and direct from the barrel at the brewery. Actually I came to like the tank versions a bit better. It pours hazy golden with a fine lasting creamy egg white head and lacings. Amazing nose and taste. A bit of butter, buiscuit and yeast and lots of fresh, floral and grassy hops. Hoppy, dry and crisp. The palate is smooth. Very tasty and quaffable.
