For Längst Blend #2, the recipe consisted of 7 malts and was then fermented with a rich, fruity yeast strain. We then aged the beer in Bourbon Barrels until the notes of dried dark fruits, wet leather, peat, caramel and barrel created a harmonious experience. After 18 months in Bourbon barrels, we allowed Längst to condition for an additional 3 months before confirming that it is ready to share with you.

Bottle at RateBeer Best. Pours black with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong wood, bourbon, vanilla, roast. Medium body, wood, caramel, spice, lots of heat from the bourbon, very nice.

[1/28/17] Bottle/Draught at RateBeer Best festival in Santa Rosa. Dark brown to black. Thick, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, nuts, dark fruits, chocolate, cookies, sweet, chewy, a bit of booziness. Full-bodied.

Bottle sample at RB Best. Pours clear black, small beige head, dissipates fairly slowly with some lacing. Aroma is bourbon, molasses, anise, chocolate, hints of raisin, berries. Flavor is light bitter, medium sweet, malty indeed with integrated bourbon notes. Medium body. This was quite nice.
