Interpretation of a Belgian Quadrupel by Yria & Guineu. Dark copper color, at taste appears a pronounced malt profile with liquorous notes. The receipe is enriched with exotic flavoured sugars like moscovado and Reunion Island Brown natural sugar. 8 months in a barrel with 'brettanomyces' improve and refine their profile.

Draft at BierCaB, RBESG 2016. Reddish brown with barely any head. Aroma of red fruits, overripe dark fruit, caramel, tart red fruit, light vinegar and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Light full bodied with an alcohol burn and soft carbonation. [09-07-2016]

RBESG 2016 in Barcelona. On tap at Bier CaB. Dark brown to ruby colour. Aroma and flavour of oak and red wine, quite nice. Might well sample again, if available.

On-tap in BierCaB Barcelona on 9th July 2016: with the RBESG guys. Red hue to the brown body, lightly tanned head. Needed this alcoholic boost like a hole in the head so early into day three of the Gathering: but needs must. Malty molasses and dark fruits dominate the nose and flavour of this boozy brew: a bit sweet, but my sweet tooth liked it. Would never have put it down as a Quad in a blind tasting: still liked it though.

Tap at BierCaB. Clear ruby brown with short lasting head. Glue, overripe red fruits, sherry, booze. Quite sweet with bitter alcohol. Nice beer, but very alcoholis. Not really a real Quadrupel, but I did enjoy it actually though I probably wouldn’t want to finish a whole bottle because of the alcohol.
