30 blg. Extreme, peated imperial stout, which overpowers your tastebuds and attacks your nostrils just as fresh, liquid asphalt does. A second later you will feel deposit of chocolate, as dark as night can be, with hints of coffee and wood, from the railways of course. You can either love it or hate it, but you can’t be indifferent to it.

0.33l bottle. Aroma is earthy, leathery and roasted malty. Pours almost black color with few foamy bubbles around the rim and no lacing. Taste starts with rich roasted malt, chocolate and liquor, following is heavily peated and leathery, mouthfeel is warm and mild spicy, while finish is average bitter. Full body, oily texture and flat carbonation in palate. Peat or die…

Bottle at home. Pours jet black with no head. Nose is syrupy peated chocolate, inviting and indulging. Taste is chocolate praline with some booze and hints of coffee perhaps, but it's mainly smoke and chocolate. Closes with a sweet, warming boozy chocolatey finish, has a medium to big, creamy-oily body and soft carbonation. It may be lacking in complexity, but boy does it make up for it in general pleasantry.

On tap at Skaal, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is very peaty and smoky, with tons of Islay barrel character on top of a roasted malt base. Flavour is heavily peaty and fruity, with tons of Islay barrels, loads of iodine/creosote, followed by gentle dark dried fruits, leather, tobacco and roast underneath. As an Islay/peat lover, this is very pleasing. But it does still feel a bit rough. Very good.

150ml shared with Ryan enjoying Jens' stories about Alex, hehe. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: peeeeeat, obviously, some fruity notes. Taste: along the same lines, peaty, moderately sweet, some dark fruits, a bit dry aftertaste. Overall: enjoyable enough even for the person who doesn't like peat.

Very dark brown with no head. Really strong aroma of barbecued meat, leather and whisky. Oily texture. Sweet base notes. Earthy iodine and peat. Lingering peaty whisky in the aftertaste.
