Bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van karamel, chocolade en wat rozijnen en gedroogd fruit. Nasmaak blijft heel lang hangen.

Clear deep reddish amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Rich and rewarding fruit cake and ripe and mellow citrus peel. The malts provide a thin creamy sweetness that underpins this fruit complexity well, touch of caramel helps. Light and semi dry finish shows a modest alcohol spice. Nicely fruity quad.

Dunkel malziger Beginn. Deutliche Süße, dunkelmalzig, hefig. Die Süße stiegt noch leicht an, geringe bis keine Herbe, mittellanger Abgang. Okay. 10/9/8/9/7/9

My 33 cl bottle of Douze purchased from a happy Belgian retailer, if you get my drift. My thanks to them for keeping me in quads. The pour will be into my Straffe Hendrik tulip glass, the view is a copper brown with a smattering of light tan foam. Hmm, a fragrant nose, grain, ripe dark fruit and syrup. The taste builds on that. Figs, fruit cake, cane syrup, pecans, hard candy and dark bread. Sort of an unfinished edge to it for a quadrupel but no real complaints. Better than I anticipated.

Clear mahogany brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have sweet brown sugar and cakey notes. Typical Belgian yeast. Dried fruits. Sweet sherry.
