A year after the launch of Bushy’s Gibraltar Barbary Beer in the colony, signs show that the brew - a partnership between the Manx brewers and the Gibraltarian Importers, Lewis Stagnetto, is proving highly popular with locals and visitors alike. Bushy’s boss Martin has recently fostered links, after an epic drive through France and Spain with wife, Debbie, with the Botanical gardens on the colony and they are growing hops for the next brew. It is believed that this coming brew will be the first ever beer to contain hops grown on Gibraltar.

Old rating from 29-10-16 - Found only on the colony by a friend & brought back to Jersey, made with Gibraltarian grown hops. It pours a clear light brown colour ale with a medium off-white foamy head with medium retention and light lacing. Aromas of malt, caramel and some dried fruit. Tastes of caramel, cereal, bread, malt & dried fruits with a aftertaste that has a light to medium bitter finish.

0.5 l bottle, gift from Gibraltar. Pretty average bitter, its only exclusivity is its place of origin.

500 mL bottle poured. Cool new country tick brought back by some family as a gift. Much thanks for always keeping me in mind. Clean copper pour with plenty of loose foam head up front. Bran and caramel grain nose. Flavor is a bit on the butty side, more on the caramel side, somewhat dry, grassy, papery finish. Light drinking and inoffensive on flavor overall. Flavorful enough for one of the lighter beers I've had in a while. I knew I was slacking on beers from here, but also in the style in general. Fun brew.

Bottled 500ml. -Darker golden coloured, medium sized white head, toffee and light floral nose. Sweet malty, toffee, caramel, light floral and slightly nutty with dry bitterish sweet finish. New country counts.
