A year after the launch of Bushy’s Gibraltar Barbary Beer in the colony, signs show that the brew - a partnership between the Manx brewers and the Gibraltarian Importers, Lewis Stagnetto, is proving highly popular with locals and visitors alike. Bushy’s boss Martin has recently fostered links, after an epic drive through France and Spain with wife, Debbie, with the Botanical gardens on the colony and they are growing hops for the next brew. It is believed that this coming brew will be the first ever beer to contain hops grown on Gibraltar.

Bottled, huge thanks Ogi who shared it with Hrabren and me. And oh man, an Isle of Man beer that semi-masquerades on here as a Gibraltar beer. Wow...Clearish amber body, off-white head. Oxidation in the aroma, cardboard, floral-fruity notes, estery touches. Lean, dry taste, pleasant stone fruit esters, lighter oxidation than in the aroma, ends lightly caramelly, vaguely bitter. Actually a tasty twiggy bitter. And yay, a Gibraltar tick!

500 ml bottle. Pours a copper color with moderate head. A soft malty beer with additional notes of corn and copper. Nothing special, but easy to drink during a hot day in Gibraltar.
