The German Pilsner malt is used to brew this Pale Lager, which gives the beer a rich color of the straw and a sweet taste of the malt, that blends harmoniously with the gentle bitterness of aromatic hops. The beer is fermented in open fermentation tanks with Weihenstephan yeast of lower fermentation. IBU – 19 EBC – 7 OG – 1.048 FG – 1.009.

On tap at Špunka, Vilnius. Clear pale golden with a white head. Mild grainy aroma with buttery notes and hints of fruits and honey. Moderate to medium sweet and slightly unpleasant, hints of acidity and not much bitterness. Very close to drainpour.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Stas. Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of rotten vegetables and diacetyl. Flavor has some sweetish graininess, diacetyl, vegetables and a slightly bitterish finish. Light to medium-bodied. Not so good.

(Keg at Kodu, Tallinn, 20131222) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had lots of butter, some grass and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were butter, grass, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had butter and bittereness. The beer had too much diacetyl in it. Perhaps had it been fresher it would have been also better.

0,5L glass bottle, BB 14.12.2013. Pours golden with small white head, most of the head dissapears quickly, thin white line remains. Aroma: very weird: grass, farm, vegetables. Taste is also weird vegetable sourness with some sweetness in the backgroud. Don’t like the taste of this one at all. Medium carbonation.Overall: maybe I have a bottle from bad batch, but this beer is rather disgusting. It doesn’t taste like chemicals or some artifical stuff, but this doesn’t mean it’s good. Couldn’t even drink half of the bottle.

Tap at Alus Namai. Pale gold, slightly cloudy, fine, low head. Tangy nose of lemon, grass, bread. Fruity and slitly cream. Creamy, tart, fruity flavor. Bread and grains, lemon. A lemony kellerbier with a grassy finish. Quite nice.

Draught@Alaus Namai
Clear deep golden color, steady medium-sized white head. Malty, buttery, a bit vegetably aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Malty, a bit grainy, slightly buttery. Light hoppyness in the finish. Similar to some unfiltered German lagers!
