Our take on the Double-Double is double the coffee and double the dry-hopping! We used Mosaic for a deep berry character, with Amarillo and Ekuanot bolstering the strong hop character. A higher than normal mashing temperature gives a residual sweetness, helped with allergen-free hazelnut extract and some vanilla. The Peruvian Huabal coffee comes via Pharmacie Coffee Roasters, and provides notes of baked apple and orange marmalade with a sweet and full toffee body.

Keg at Brewdog Soho. A translucent golden yellow coloured pour with a fine halo of white head. Aroma is big smoked coffee, tangy coffee bean, citrus lime, earth. Very complex nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, wheat, hint of lactose, liquorice, coffee bean,.woody pine. Bitter liquorice lingers. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, powdery carbonation. Nice complexity.

Tap. Friends of Ham, Leeds. Vibrant gold. Fine white head. Nose has tangerine and melon. Bit of a smoothie thing. Light coffee grinds. Taste is fruity and sweet. Hint of coffee bitterness. Medium body. Fine carbonation. Hint of tang. Lingering coffee bitterness on the finish. Decent.
