Can. Black-ish pour. Aroma of strong booze, green apple, licorice, caramel, oak and vanilla. Taste has thick caramel fudge, green apple, caramel, oak, vanilla, dates, figs and caramelised malt. Very boozy and the green apple is again very present, but I really like the flavors and the booziness nice.

0.33 l can from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before November 2024. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a bit boozy aroma of caramel, cocoa, vanilla, whisky and a touch of raisins. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty, boozy and slightly fruity taste of caramel, cocoa, loads of whisky as well as some trademark green apple, vanilla and a touch of raisins, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, a bit earthy, slightly boozy finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Fairly close to an Imperial Stout, and the green apples are back, unfortunately. Still enjoyable but not great.

Can. Semi opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, sweetish and mildly creamy. Touch of woody toffee. Smooth fruity whiskey blends in well. Smooth and semi dry finish brings a modest spice. Simple ba barleywine, but hangs together well.

3/I/20 - 33cl can from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB:XI/24 (2020-15)
Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, bit irregular, little fizzy, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very boozy, pretty roasted, ripe banana, caramel, other ripe and sweet fruits, dried fruits, some dried plums. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very alcoholic, lots of phenols, more alcohol, super boozy, sugary, sweet, soft roast. Aftertaste: sweet, some coffee, bitte roast, some banana peel, more phenols, way too boozy, chocolate notes. Has a lot of potential but the alcohol spoils it for me personally (and this is after a one week drinking holiday, mind you ;-) .

Can at home. Pours deep brown, nose is soy sauce, caramel, woody, some fruit, taste is similar, juicy, a little too much barrel. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Project 19.11 on 14 Jan 2020 at 14:13 - Score: 8

Can. Deep dark brown color. Roast, cinnamon and whisky in the almost sugary aroma. Malty sweet flavor with caramel, vanilla, cinnamon and whisky. A slight herbalness. Nice.
