Reasonably good bockbier. Not as clean as a good german, but in the ballpark of the style. Wolf atelier ams

330ml bottle [2021 vintage]. Clear, chestnut colour with wonderful ruby shimmer and small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Earthy, toasty malty and perfumed, herbal-spicy aroma, hints of juniper berry, a touch of lovage, malt lozenge. Taste is slightly dry, herbal-spicy, toasty malty, hints of malt lozenge, juniper berry, a touch of lovage. Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Quite herbal spicy, not overly malt accentuated - a bit strange.

Bottle. Brown color. Caramel and floral, perfumed notes in the aroma and flavor. Sweet, thin, hint of licorice. Pear drups.
