Dear Enjoyer, Sometimes a rough night just calls for a Breakfast Ale...this one is dark and robust, with just the right mix of coffee beans and maple syrup. The recipe was created by the East Bay Homebrew Club from Rhode Island and vanquished almost 100 other beers in The Boil Rumble, our national homebrew competition. It was then recreated at the Mothership in Alpine, and sent out to our entire distribution network just in time to enjoy for the Holidays. Huzzah!

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown coloe with a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head trickling off to leave some messy to spotty lace
Aroma: sweet coffee, roasted coffee, some maple syrup, caramel sweetness, toffee sweetness and some toasted nuts
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas together for a sweet to roasty quality; finishes cleanly with the roasty and maple-y notes
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, pretty smooth along the tongue
Overall: nicely done brown ale with that breakfast vibe to it. I'd bang again.

This beer is a clear copper-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lace. Aroma of coffee, maple and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of roast coffee, maple, malt and almond. The finish is sweet and roasty with a maple syrup and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

16 ounce can. Pours a ruddy brown color with a large white head. A light sweet coffee and toast nose. More big coffee, light roast, sweet sugary finish. Not bad. A lot for the ABV but it works.

Tall can from Brewcraft at home on day 1 of quarantine. Clearish dark chocolate brown pour with lighter cola edges. Thin white head. Deeply nutty coffee aroma, with some chocolate, like a chocolate covered coffee bean. Definitely breakfast. Taste is similar but not as strong. Smooth light palate with not much carbonation - a bit flat.

16 oz can from Brewer's Haven. Clear, medium brown pour with a small creamy beige head.Light coffee aroma, some brown bread. Taste amps up the coffee a bit, while also featuring light maple notes. Coffee kind of dominates, with some underlying minor sweetness.

The underlying beer is great, the maple adds a cool touch and uniqueness and mostly sweetness. It’s a very well made beer. Backhouse Boulder
