Black beer, thin brown head. Smells of sugar and toasty malt. Taste has the rich muscovado sugar too, loads of malt, dark chocolate. Balanced beautifully and with a warm boozy finish. Great stout.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Black body with a thin tan head. Patchy lacing. Aroma of prune, nuts and earth. Flavour of Marmite and a hint of smoked malt and whisky. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Simple, fine.

On keg at 6DN Edinburgh. Appearance - black with a thin fawn head. Nose - chocolate cake, caramel, light smoke. Taste - caramel and chocolate (millionaire's shortbread) and light smoke again. Palate - rich and creamy. A bit boozy but fairly balanced. Overall - nice.

Keg at Six Degrees North Aberdeen. It pours opaque darkest brown / black with a dissipating tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, sweet, plenty of dark chocolate, cookie dough, chocolate brownie, touch of foamy banana from the yeast, dark fruits, nips of spice and earth. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, earthy, spice, burnt toast, umami, liquorice, dark fruits, some banana split, coffee, earthy, oak, tannin, warming booze, raisin and sultana with a drying finish. Fulsome body and fine, prickly carbonation. A very nice combination of big stout and imperial stout, which is hard to achieve.
