2019/08/31 Bottle shared at home, 2017 label, picked up at the source. Clear golden applejuice with a thin white ring head and soft lacing. Sweet bitter and tart apples, sweet red juicy apples, some bitter green and mealy yellow, some sour greens. 🍎🍏A narrow but densely loaded spectrum with soft hints of caramelised fruit sugars, mustardy spices, earthy and woody notes. A short lived complexity swirls up in the mouth with every sip swallowed, then calms into a sweet and pleasant balanced blend of apples with a soft layer of rustic woody tones. Dupont cidre has a signature mouthfeel that is a tad more oilier and more wine-like than most (not all) of the other Normandy ciders I’ve tried. Medium body and soft carbonation. Quality stuff, now where is the funk? --- Beer merged from original tick of Cidre Bouché (2017) on 31 Aug 2019 at 20:00 - Score: 7.
