Inspired by our brewers' love of the assertive, bright flavors of Thai ingredients, this intensely flavored brew incorporates the vibrant quality of several Thai-inspired ingredients into our classic imperial stout. Powerful notes of citrus, botanicals, and tropical fruit balance the stout's rich chocolate, caramel, and coffee character. The result is an amazingly flavorful and complex beer that pays tribute to the flavors of Thailand.

Bottle, 75cl. A black one, topped by a small tan head. The aroma has lots of basil, with roasted malts, coffee and a herbal touch. Ginger and some caramel. It's full-bodied and lightly warming, smooth and lightly carbonated, with lots of sweetness. Not very sticky though. Basil, ginger and something reminiscent of mint in the flavor. Toffee, dark chocolate, coffee and some roasted malts. Lasting finish. A bit herbal this one I think. Nice though, but I prefer the plain coffee Speedways. 220108

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is very adjunct-forward with lots of ginger, lime and lemongrass. Lighter coffee, coconut and basil notes. Moderate chocolate and lighter roast notes. Light alcohol spice. Pours jet black with a medium large, thick, creamy, dark mocha head that recedes slowly to a small, thick, creamy, mocha head that persists. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is rather sweet with quite a bit of chocolate malt and lighter roast notes. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol spice. Much like the aroma, the flavor is very adjunct-forward with the lemongrass leading the way. Lighter lime, ginger, and coffee with faint coconut and basil. Some lingering spiciness from the ginger in the finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an interesting speedway variant. I was definitely hoping this would be more coconut forward, but this is still enjoyable (mostly because I like lemongrass). I wish the coffee was also a bit more forward.

Tap. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aromas of coconut, ginger, licorice, roasted malts, perfumey notes. Taste has lots of spice. Cinnamon, nutmeg, star anis, ginger, chocolate, malty bready notes. This is not doing it for me at allllll

Had to try it, but very much not my thing, as I feared. Way too much ginger, overpowers all. The beer is not nearly as thick, smooth and soft as the regular one. Unbalanced and not very tasty at all.

Bottled, shared at Eriks. Almost pitch black with brown head. Loads of coffee as well as lemon grass and basil. Extremely herbal for a stout. Some green peppers there as well. Weird, but quite good.
