FrIPA

Glutenfree IPA hopped with Polaris, Citra and Simcoe, by this Stockholm craft brewery named after one of Sweden's most famous historical beer brands. Bottle at the marina in Bromma at Lake Mälaren. Medium sized, moussey, eggshell-white, stable head on a misty apricot blonde robe with ochre tinge. Aroma of toasted garlic, armpit sweat or overripe onion, spice crackers, green kiwi, marihuana, dry peppercorns, cucumber peel, stale grapefruit juice. Crisp onset, quite dry, sharply carbonated with an even somewhat numbing effect; vague hints of green apricot and unripe banana, moving into a smooth, cracker-like but still somewhat 'fluffy'-bready maltiness - the breadiness doubtlessly coming mostly from the yeast though. Carbonation-induced minerality runs through the whole, ending in a green unripe guava-, toasted garlic- and pink grapefruit-tinged hoppiness, providing a long, tonic water-ish, extensive bitterness, a bit powdery - but nowhere becoming harsh. Oldskool while at the same time 'timeless' kind of 'generically American style' IPA, balanced and easygoing. Does what it is supposed to do.

Finding this bottle at one monoprix, Paris. Serving us this bottle yesterday with my wife, at home, Epalinges, busy day and refreshing beverage with an aromatic note of oat, cereal, fresh bread, smooth, fruity, hop, floral, yeasty, next one please, 14.12.2022.

Bottle from Systembolaget, web-order in March 2019. Hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma of bread, grapefruit and some hops. The same in the taste. The finish was fairly bitter.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy pale golden with some floaters, mid sized head. Aroma of pear and grapefruit. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Starchy bread, pears and grapefruit. Resinous bitter finish.
