The distinctive Ruby Red colour makes it unmistakably Smithwick’s. With a refreshingly balanced taste, this is a blend of mild hops, sweet malt, and roasted barley. The gentle bitterness of the hops is perfectly complemented by the sweet, malty notes.

Draught @Gielty's Bar, Keel, Achill Island. Clear medium amber colour, small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma malt, grain, caramel. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel, candy sugar. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, caramel notes; medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, decent red ale.
