--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black, small beige head. Aroma of red wine, coffee and licorice. Unnecessarily sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Coffee, red wine and oak. Some licorice and artificial sweetener. Warming bitter finish. Would be wonderful with less artificial sweetener.

0.5 l bottle from 'Dagli'Brugsen' (Fanø), 2022 vintage, cellared for almost a year. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently roasty, slightly vinous aroma of praline, coffee, toasted hazelnut, vanilla and some red wine. Rather sweet, malty, quite roasty, minimally sourish and gently vinous taste of dark chocolate, coffee, toasted hazelnut, vanilla, some licorice and red wine, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly woody finish. Medium to full body, very smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Lovely Imperial Stout, great barrel-aging, superb balance and complexity. A true gem.
