Red Wedding is an imperial stout, brewed with coffee and lactose then aged in red wine barrels for over a year. Smooth flavors of coffee, vanilla, oak and wine blend together is this sweet stout to make this 12,2% imperial stout something far more dangerous than you would ever believe.

2026 bottle.
Pours very dark brown, selttles black, light brown small head
really nice red grape like roasted malty aroma, sort of like a port barrel imp stout, fruits and wood are near perfectly balanced and the base beer appears solid enough to be able to handle the extra complexity.
flavor is roasted malts, salt licorice, coconut, bit of coffee bitterness, lots of alc. bitterness, wood, faint note from the red wine, i little bit of cake frosting sweetness from the sugars, dark chocolate cake with a tiny bit of bitter caramel that i could do without. Still, a pretty darn good BA imp stout and the red wine barrel worked exceptionally well, it has not turned into a halfway quad or anything crazy. smooth. super nice. def. better than 2026 black, this being more balanced.

red wine barrels dominate the aroma, also some funk and some sour malts, like it's a sour imp stout. although sourish i really dig the aroma 8/10
flavor is velvety layered chocolate and roasted malts, wood, fainter red wine, funky notes, fainter coffee. for some reason i think it's too much chocolate even though they
did not use chocolate at all. perhaps the lacto, in fact, i think this would have been much better if it was more malty and less lacto. 7/10

Bottle, 500 ml courtesy of kajser27. Shared with him, MiroB, Luka. Black with beige head. Dark chocolate, some fruity notes, bitterish light tartness, bitter finish, kind of clashing. Dry cocoa.

Op tap bij Borefts '24. 2024 edition, same description, same ABV, same IBU. Zwarte kleur, geen kraag. Droppig, hout, groene appels (heuj..), gebrand, caramel, rode wijn. Had hier hoge verwachtingen van maar viel behoorlijk tegen.

Clear dark purple brown beer, small creamy beige to light brown head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: roasted, pretty intense, some coffee, chocolate, soy sauce. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, very bitter and roasted, alcohol, sugary touch, a bit sourish, meh. Aftertaste: more roast, dark chocolate, sourish, a little chemical.
