Bottle, thanks to Summer Santa VastActiv! Pours darkest brown. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, coffee, chocolate milk. Body is heavy and sweet, quite bitter, chocolate and caramel, over a very low carbonation. Intense, but with a soft smoked counterbalance. Sweet palate, yet clearly weaker than what an Imperial Stout of this calibre would offer. Good!

Beery Christmas #17. Pours black with a nice head, dissipates quickly though. Aroma is very rich, a lot of roasty aromas dominate, mostly roasted barley and some chocolate malt. Cocoa and coffee. Very nice. Big body. Flavour is rather sweet, very malty, lots of caramel, somewhat smokey. Coffee and vanilla are noticeable now. The Kenyan coffee is a nice addition and gives a nice slightly acidic fruity coffee touch, but could imho be a bit more forward in flavour here. Vanilla on the other hand is very noticeable. All in all a very nice Baltic Porter, too bad the coffee is not a bit more central. Excellent nevertheless.

Bottle 330ml. @ HBF 2017 [ Helsinki Beer Festival 2017 ], Kaapelitehdas, Talberginkatu 1, Helsinki, Finland. [ As Sori / AF Brew Midsummer Melancholy ].Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla, alcohol, moderate roasted, coffee, dark coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark chocolate, vanilla, alcohol, dark malt, coffee - dark coffee - dark chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20170408] 8-4-8-4-16

330mml bottle as part of the Beery Christmas 2017. Dark opaque colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of coffee, hazelnuts, smoked malts and vanilla. Taste is heavy sweet with a warm presence of alcohol leading to a medium bitter coffee and vanilla finish. Next one please!

Thin to medium greige head, dense, over virtually black beer. Chocolate², Mars® bar, both milk & black chocolate, and a hefty dose of vanilla. Even a bit too hefty, and too sweet. Sugared peanuts, whiff of nutmeg. Sweet chocolate, Bourbon, vanilla and Cherry Heering. Vanilla beans, rather than the pod ones.. Sweet cheese, somehow. Very chewy, slick, absolutely full bodied, light alcoholheat. Overly sweet, even cloying. Vanilla drink and no longer beer - not convinced.

330 ml. bottle @ Beerlovers Bar. Black, thick deep mocha head. Nose is vanilla, chocolate, marshmallow cacao, sweet, caramel,… Taste is like sweet caramel, sugar, cacao, lovely but a bit too artificial tasting with marshmallow, cacao, vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee, body is likewise. Very nice beer but a bit too much on the marshmallow & cacao meaning that it doesn’t have a real Baltic Profile just the stuff layered on top but its tasty & quite a bit so.
