Bottle at Urban Golf, Kensington. Reddish brown, lots and lots of carbonation. Aroma of caramel malt, forest floor, some strawberry, biscuit spread. Taste is a uniform but satisfying malty bittersweet with a more rounded bitter finish. A bit of spicy hop in the aftertaste. Far too carbonated. Not a patch on cask, but good enough

Bottle. Dark amber colour, small head with poor lacing. Aroma is not very intensive, mostly of caramel, with spicy finish . Light but pleasant bitterness. Average carbonation, oily texture. It’s quite easy to drink, tastes good, but could offer something more.

clear amber colour, one inch beige-ish creamy head; aroma of caramel, some bread, grass and hints of dried fruits and roasted nuts; taste is the same with some less perfect metallic-cardboard like note; easily drinkable

From the Sanjo Seiyu at 189 yen. It pours a crystal clear honey amber with a fizzy beige head. A really malty caramel aroma wafts from the glass. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is grainy malty sweet, very earthy but actually not too bad.

Sampled on draft at Pipers this beer poured a dark caramel color with brown highlights and a small foamy orange-tan head that faded and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweetish, tangy and malty with hints of caramel and ripe fruits. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of toffee, bread, ripe fruits and a hint of tobacco. Medium length finish. Medium body though a bit undercarbonated. Ok.
