Spitfire Amber Kentish Ale was first brewed in 1990 to commemorate the Battle of Britain which was fought in the skies above Kent 50 years earlier and is one of the leading ales in the UK. Spitfire Amber Ale combines the pick of Kentish hops to layer bitter orange marmalade flavour on top of sweet biscuits and caramel malts for a peppery dry finish. Hops: Target, Challenger, East Kent Goldings, First Gold.

Barwa bursztynowa, klarowne, piana niezbyt obfita i trwała. W aromacie nuty ziołowe, lekko opiekane słody, troszeczkę karmelu, lekko niepokojąca nuta maślana. W smaku już wyraźniejszy diacetyl, nie jakiś ogromny, ale przeszkadza. Poza tym ziołowość, lekki karmel i herbata, lekkie owoce. Wodniste niestety, goryczka średnia, herbaciano-liściasta, trochę brakuje wysycenia. Jeden ze słabszych angoli z Lidla, przeciętne, ale bez tragedii.

Bottle from Seiyu (¥150). Poured into an English tulip pint. Pours an orange brown with a small off-white head that dissipates quickly but leaves a nice rim on the beer. Caramel notes dominate the nose with some slight fruit noticeable as well. Flavor is much of the same with some soapy notes as well. Light body with a watery mouthfeel. Slightly dry finish.

0.5L bottle from Danish supermarket. Pours clear orange amber with a thin but persisting off-white head that leaves no lacing on the glass. The aroma is malty with a hint of toffee. The taste is medium sweet and turns slightly bitter. Smooth palate. Easy to drink.

Bottle at the tea house theatre. Aroma is nutty caramel, bit tired malts, English yeast. Light amber coloured pour with a loose fleeting greyish head. Flavour is sweet nutty malts,not much else. Bit of unrefined sugars. Palate is sweet and thin. Not very good.
