This beer starts off the final year of our Exit Series journey with the release of the last four beers. Exit 2 takes us to one of the most rural and interesting parts of the state-an area filled with farms, orchards and vineyards. To Celebrate all this awesome agriculture we've used Jersey grown malt, hops and rosemary.
This double IPA features big rosemary, pine and fruit hop aromatics from Chinook, Simcoe, Warrior and Mosiac hops as well as the rosemary. Hops and herbs are balanced by flavors of eight different malts: think freshly baked bread and lightly kilned malt. A slight alchol warmth rounds out this big, resinous double IPA.
As good as the beer is to drink by itself, it also works with BBQ, sausage, lamb, or a nice blue cheese.

750 ml bottle. Amber orange pour topped by a large rocky beige head. Aromatic toasted malt nose hints at caramel. Then comes the explosion of hops and rosemary. Intensely bittersweet with notes of crushed black pepper, lemon and pine. Warming alcohol in finish leads to a long bitter aftertaste. Quite tasty and certainly unique.

750 ml bottle from Buy Rite, Jersey City. Pours a clear orange color with a thin white head and some off-white drippy, spotty lacing. Herbal and a little fruity, some resiny notes. A bit of boozy heat. The malts fades away pretty quick, as it really drinks on the bitter side. Drys out the mouth quite a bit as well, with a dry / herbal close. Pretty nice if you are looking for an herb-forward dry beer. In my opinion it is probably more suited to a smaller format or a share than a personal 750. One of those beers where it starts to feel a little same-note as you get into the 500-750 ml range. Overall though, I enjoyed it.
