Location: Growler from Milk and Hops - Chelsea, 11/1/16, Rating #5800! More of this please!
Aroma: The aroma is grapefruit, resin, and pine, with some tropical / papaya type fruit as well, a bit of a green pepper note, dough, light spice, and some herbal notes. More complex than expected.
Appearance: Pours a fully murky orange with a decent amount of off-white head and spotty lace.
Flavor: The flavor is right there too, just a millimeter behind the aroma if, for some reason, we are counting in metric. It has a really nice fruity, juicy flavor to it. A bit of spice, a little sweet, and a nice bitterness. Just a ton going on here, and all of it works well in combination.
Palate: Drinks light a 5-6% beer. This could be dangerous. Smooth and clean. Finishes tingly and a bit dry. Long close, that is clean, with a hoppy feel that just sits on the tongue forever.
Overall Impression: There's a lot going on here. Especially in the aroma, with the hops just coming off really nicely. Great hoppy aroma. Not the prettiest beer, but otherwise this is great. The more of it I drink, the more I like it. One of those beers where my score after a couple is higher than my score after one. I'm probably better off not having more of this one, because it's crushable, and beers this high in ABV should not be crushable like this.
