A Belgian dark strong ale brewed with chocolate and crystal malts with sixty pounds of dark candy syrup. The result is a full-bodied ale with notes of fig, toffee, and caramelized sugar. A perfect beer for the holidays

Location: Draft at the brewpub, 11/28/14
Aroma: Sweet and malty nose, boozy, caramel, toffee, dark malts, chocolate, and brown sugar
Appearance: Pours a murky brownish color with a small head and decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, malty and sweet, fairly complex, good flavor
Palate: The mouthfeel is fairly full, sticky, with a decent amount of heat and a sticky finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid, sweet and malty Belgian style brew. It is not quite on the level of the best examples of the style, but this is a very solid approximation.
