On tap at the GA Chapter Room. Pours deep amber, with a big, foamy head and great lacing. Aggressive nose, with notes of juniper, papaya, cinnamon bark, cocoa, and a light toastiness. Great, grainy and malty sweetness up front, with a mild, sharp bitterness in the finish. Medium to heavy body, crisp, chalky, and grainy, with a sharp finish. This is a very nice, complex, and interesting beer.

Draft at the source. From notes. Bready caramel and citrus hops dominate. Slight herbal notes in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at Republic. Pours a clear amber with a light tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has bitter citrus/grapefruit and earthy grains with a bit of resin underlying. Flavor has lots of earthy grains with some bitter citrus backing.

Location: Growler from Superstar Beer City, 10/27/14

Aroma: The aroma is resiny pine, some spruce, tree sap, and a bit of caramel malt
Appearance: It pours a clear amber color with a small tan head and some light, drippy lacing
Flavor: The flavor is mildly sweet, up-front with a fairly bitter mid-palate, and a bitter close
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a lively carbonation, and a lengthy, dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this beer was pretty solid, nothing amazing, but solid. It is a more bitter than average example of the style, but otherwise it feels fairly standard.
