Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy dark tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was toasty coffee, faint cocoa and moderate fruity hops. The flavor was dryish, bitter and roasty with notes of cocoa, coffee and mixed floral hops. Medium length dry and roasty finish with lingering cocoa and hops. Ok and better than most in this style.

Location: Draft at Capital Ale House, 11/17/12
Aroma: The nose has pine hops, along with roasted and burnt malts
Appearance: Dark brown pour with a small off-white and some sticky lace
Flavor: The taste of this one is light sweet, with roasted/burnt malts, and a light hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, if feels a touch sticky, and fairly clean, with a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this one was a really solid Black IPA. Certainly worth trying in my opinion. Good stuff.
