Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5
Location: Bottle at the Brewpub, 8/10/12
Aroma: The nose has some smoked malts and peat, the hops don't come out until it warms
Appearance: This one pours an unclear reddish brown color with a beige head and fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is fairly smokey, with a light rye, light sweetness and some hop notes as well
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has a soft carbonation, a somewhat creamy feel, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: The smoke definitely dominates the hops in this one, but you can still tell that there is an IPA hiding somewhere in there. Interesting for sure, and pretty unique. I still rather enjoyed it.
