Californian coffee stout, sampled at Gents Bierfestival, thanks Ster for sharing. Medium thick, creamy, pale greyish white head, jet black robe. Aroma of peanut butter, vanilla-flavoured coffee, toasted pine nuts, espresso, butterscotch, ’fondant’ chocolate sauce, Cuban cigars. Sweetish and sourish onset, dried fruits, cranberry- and fig-like impressions, soft carbo, oily mouthfeel. Nutty and toasty, slightly toffeeish malt body developing growing, mouthfilling roasted bitterness towards the end, remaining very nutty at the same time, but eventually becoming a tad ashy as well, very bitter with this roastedness accentuated by the coffee and peppery, long-lasting, drying hop bitterness. Delicious modern American stout.

Thank you for sharing RB Crew! Sampled 655 ml. bottle @ GBF 2017. Black, solid tanned head. Really nice nose, sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, low condensed milk & even hazelnut. Taste falters a bit compared to smell, more muted cacao, almost herbal, medium sweet, great smell, so/so taste but decent for ABV I suppose. Easy cacao & mocha body.
