We blended a bourbon barrel-aged batch of our Imperial Porter with a rye whiskey barrel-aged iteration of Culmination dark chocolate porter. A ‘young’ batch of Imperial Stout was brewed and blended with the barrel-aged beers to infuse a fresh, roasty character. The resulting brew combines a mellowness drawn from long aging on wood with the bright flavor of fresh stout to create a complex beer fit for celebration.

Bomber shared at the July MDF tasting. Dark red-brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of dark fruits, roasted malt, vanilla, booze. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, soy. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild booze.

Pours deep ruby-tinged mahogany into a shaker. Tan head with excellent retention. Chocolate and pit fruit aromas. Dark chocolate and sour cherry upfront turning warm in the lasting dry espresso and resin finish.

Dark brown to black. almost no head. a little oatmeal nose, licorice, raw bitterness and some cocoa. taste is very bitter, rye malts, spice, a bit dank with american hops, and a sweet finish. Not all that great.
