Growlette share. Tuesday drinking services, something like that.
This was poured into a nonic.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head. No lacing.
The aroma starts roasty, big and bold, robust maltiness. Coffee grounds and beans. Some milk chocolate.
The flavor wraps all of the previously mentioned aromas together nicely. Big robust blend of chocolate to coffee bean, very nice. Moves nice across my tongue. Quick finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable smooth slick feel to it. Low carbonation.
Overall, session stout? How about we just call this an English styled porter and be done with it? No need to reinvent the beer wheel with useless terms. I’d still have this again, good for what it is.

2 Ounce Taster @ the source on their opening day

A - Brown with reddish edges. No head. It’s not pushing any appearance awards but remember it’s just a stout, not some BA imperial adjunct business. This is just a stout.

S - d. Fudge, Baker’s chocolate. Cedar and minimal sweetness with a touch of licorice on the aroma.

T - Good creamy presence with a light lactose sweetness at the end. Flavor is more fudge, light tobacco, oak, tootsie roll and a very faint espresso bean

M - Excellent mouthfeel. It has this velvety creamy carbonation with a really great lingering, lightly bitter finish.

O - Great beer. I probably would not get a growler of it but for a stout, it’s a top-tier.
