Half pint at Pro Pig.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown color with a slim finger’s worth of off white foamy head that dissipated pretty quickly. Adequate slightly foamy lacing.
The smell had all of the qualities of a porter with subtle balanced hints of candy cane and vanilla beans.
The taste was basically the same with more candy cane coming out a bit more. Subtle sweet cocoa and candy cane aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Roasty notes lay down on my tongue.
Overall, I like the creativity of the brewer to bring in the candy cane, festive idea for the holidays. I’d have again.

Pitch black. 2 finger espresso head. Smells exactly as described. Candy cane and vanilla. Is this real life? Sweet, lots of candy flavor with a definite coffee taste at the finish. Vanilla is subdued. I’d say candy and mint basically dominate the flavor. Sweetness is lingering. Starts great. Smells better than it tastes.
