Smooth, slightly toasty and bready malty with some earthiness, hints of roastiness and grainy notes. Quite balanced and crushable

I will say this, I like dark ales, black IPAs and dark lagers. I just do. So now I have a 16 oz can of Modernism obtained from Half Time where I get my east coast brews mostly. A tulip glass is in place and I tilt the can. A shiny, dark brown body completed by a thin but persistent skim of taupe foam. I smell plenty of grain, malt and some scorched toast. Not a bad start but the taste is even better. Dark malts, cereal, a touch of caramel sweetness that offsets some bitterness and then some charred wood. Top of the heap in the style for me I believe.

16 oz. can. Pours clear, dark, brown, with a big, foamy, beige head. The nose is spruce, toffee, marigold, pumpernickel, and burnt toast. Dry and roasted, with an acrid bitterness. Light body, sticky, and a bit watery. Fair.

16 oz can from jcos, thanks homie, 5/10/23. Dark brown color, beige head. Roasty and a little nutty. Dark chocolate notes as well. Smooth, dry, and a little bitter. Quite tasty.
