Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a brown color with a thin white foamy head with slow dissipation. Moderate sticky speckled lace.
The aroma starts off with a big boozy bready nuttiness. Caramel and toffee malts underneath. Nicely hopped with some citrus and grassiness.
The flavor leads with the breadiness. Nuttiness along with some toffee comes back to level it out. Burnt toasty to toffee to nutty aftertaste leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation yields a nice smoothness.
Overall, nice brown ale, almost like a blend between an American and an English one. I would have this again.
