A hoppy brown ale very close to our heart. Tim has been brewing this beer since his early days as a homebrewer. It’s a recipe he has constantly adjusted in his efforts to make a deliciously floral, piney, somewhat hoppy, brown ale. This beer is loaded with flavors from the rich malts and a pleasantly firm but not overbearing bitterness. The end result is a damn tasty brown ale with a nice hop kick.

Roast and some nut, coffee. Pours dark murky brown with good head and lacing. Light caramel but pretty dry finish. Some leather. Tap at brewery.

(Tap) clear, bright orangish brown colour with a small beige head; smooth palate; aroma of dried fruit, jam; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish; so much tastier than a typical brown ale

For only 24IBUs this beer tastes much more bitter to me, actually far too bitter for the style and backing malt. These guys make other beer that are much better. Cellarmaker SF.

Draught at Gourmet Haus. Roast is slightly high on this one and drowns out the hops. Pretty clear brown with dissipating head but nice pacing down glass. Taste is bitter and roasted malt.

The beer’s color is a muddy brown. Probably dark brown on a normal scale of brown shades, but medium to a shade light for a brown ale. The head is a nice light, creamy khaki. It’s a blanket of foam. Some lacing, decent retention. The aroma is nutty and earthy. Classic brown ale flavors. Background of toffee and biscuit sweetness, light and bready. Mild cola - very nice compared to how you often find this flavor in the style. Lightly sweet. Similar malt flavor, which works quite well. It’s a dried out doughy, light caramel flavor. Mushrooms, earth, light wood, walnut. Mild hop bitterness in the finish, seems a bit citric. Finishes pretty dry, or at least the hops clean up the sweetness. Normal carbonation. Fairly light feel. Some decent body to the beer. This is a tasty brown ale. It doesn’t particularly stand out, besides as a well made example of the style. Pleasant and easy to drink.

Mild brown to black. Nitro like head. Very roasty like ash and chimney. Touch of pine and grapefruit skin on the nose. Yeah , taste is hard to swallow. Intense dark chocolate cake with rye and peppercorn. Way too toasty without letting up
