On tap at the Green Dragon. Pours a very cloudy dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is big sweet barrel and some vanilla. The flavor is similarly dominated by rich whiskey alcohol notes, vanilla, leather, very sweet malty Barley Wine esq. base. Pretty good.

Draft at Rogue Hop Farm in Independence, OR on 1 June 2013. Poured a dark brown with a thin tan head, which dissipated quite quickly. Aroma of dark fruit, syrup, grains and dark rum. Toffee and molasses sweetness with some dryer grain notes. Ends with coffee, boiled sweets and residual alcohol.

Sample at Rogue Ales Distillery & Public House. Pours a murky dark brown color with a thin off-white head that disappears quickly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, toffee and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of plums, toffee, chocolate and oak. The finish is slightly boozy with a lingering dark fruit and oak aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

They’ve made a dark barley wine. Lekker aroma, malt and fruit with a barrel tone. Malty flavour with no alcohol burn. Barrel notes. BTW I was told that the barrel had never held anything else, it is fresh oak. Malty finish. Worth drinking if you find it.
