Brewed with chocolate malt, alongside Crystal and Carafa III, which gives all the flavour without the astringency. The chocolate malt is roasted to 200 degrees C (almost to the point of combustion!) to get the distinctive roasted, coffee and dark chocolate notes, and of course its very deep, dark colour. Miles has chosen Goldings and home-grown Fuggles for this porter for a gentle bitterness and traditional noble hop aroma, to allow the strong, roasted malt character to really shine in his modern makeover.

Sampled cask condiditioned. Dark brown. Light bodied for a porter. Dry, roasty, with a hint of coffee. Low bitterness. On the mild and light side of brown porters. Very suitable name.
