Introduced 2002. Retired 2006.
Puffer Ale is a hoppier version of Steamboat - the first cask conditioned ale to emerge from Scotland's newest brewery - Forth Brewery Company Ltd. It has a strong well balanced hop character gained from the use of a high proportion of Fuggles - a slightly peppery note on the tongue is also noted as a consequence of their use.

A brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and hops. The flavor is of roasted bread, hops, and burnt caramel, leading to a dry roasted end.
